Week 13 Refreshing your blog
OK, I'm going to get back to this Learning 2.1 properly. I've finally figured out how to reconfigure things (intentionally) now and have chosen a nice new layout. My picture of the National Library of Malaysia is a bit big but I'll try and fiddle with it when I have a bit of time. It is interesting looking at the stats for my blog. I even managed to get 4 visits from people in the US - I don't remember anyone from UC going there so these people must have 'accidently' got to my blog.
To answer the Learning 2.1 questions - I haven't blogged at all since Learning 2.0, mainly because I was playing around with Facebook. I've decided I don't really like Facebook though. Some people Facebook incessantly and I haven't got time to read about every little thing that people do. I might take up blogging a bit more, my only block is figuring out a good purpose for it. I've really appreciated blogs with themes to them e.g. blogs of people travelling with a chronic health condition like MS, cancer, etc. It gives good insight into what people go through, the not-so-good bits and well as the triumphs. Read a good one recently of a young Australian guy who was very ill but he put up a video showing how much he loved his wife (Hugh Jackman also made a cameo appearance on it). I can't remember what the guy's name is now but will put the link to the video up when I remember. Occasionally I'll put a comment on other people's blogs, usually an encouragement. People need all the encouragement and connecting with people that they can get, I think. There is too much busyness in this world.

Wk 12 views - Social networking
OK, the link from "quick videoclip" gets you to the (beta) site but then the video doesn't seem to be able to get started. I tried the Commoncraft version at http://www.commoncraft.com/store/socialnetworking and that is fine.
I thought the Animanga Club page was really cool and the ALA's page really had lots of things to draw people in to be involved. However, the client population in US is quite substantial. Would it work for the UC population? That said, a lot of students do seem to like looking at Facebook in the library. Maybe the library can make a network reaching to the faculties and the staff there and via them to the students. Don't know what we can promote though, and it sounds like a lot more work than stuff in the other Learning 2.0 sessions. (Or maybe I'm just feeling really weary after finishing 12 weeks of Learning in 2 weeks ... plus it's a Friday before a long weekend!)
When you have finished this week, let me know and I will send your certificate of accomplishment in Web2.0 pronto! Good work!

Wk 11 views - O/l apps & tools
Not very happy with this week's offerings. For some reason I couldn't get into the YouTube video on Google docs.
Couldn't get into Slideshare either, even with attempting to install the Adobe Flash Player. "Unable to authenticate" came up.
Then, I couldn't do my exercise in Google docs. The Google docs page froze on "loading".
Anyone else have problems?
